More about this item

This Greenland or Inuit Kayak model was acquired from the estate of a prominent collector of scale model transportation from around the world. The estate was confident that the item dated to the 1920s or earlier and had been in the collection since about 1950. Similar items found on the interwebs consistently date skin on frame models from 1900 to 1920 so the limited family history seems reasonable. The condition of the skin is remarkable, I can find no rips, tears or repairs on the kayak. All the tie downs appear to be intact. Tools include articulated harpoons as well as a harpoon gun. The paddle is missing but would be easy to replicate from known examples. This model measures 19.5" long.

Please note that this is a used item that will show normal wear and tear associated with age and use, it is offered as shown and cannot be returned for refund or exchange. Please read the condition statement and view images to make sure this item is in a condition you'll be happy with at a price you are willing to pay.
